Jessie holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Dalhousie University as well as a certificate in Photography from Nova Scotia Community College. Jessie obtained interprofessional education certificates in Exploring Disabled Sexuality and Practicing Patient-Centred Care with Individuals with Disabilities.

With a passion for community health, Jessie has experience working with a variety of populations including people living with mental illness and intellectual/physical disabilities. Living with chronic pain for most of her life, Jessie is especially interested in health disparities experienced by women and 2SLGBTQ+ populations.

For three years, Jessie has worked as a community support worker for the Regional Residential Services Society. Recently, she has worked with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development on Health Education initiatives. Jessie has volunteered with organizations including Adsum House for Women & Children, Nova Scotia Health Mental Health & Addictions, and The Veteran Farm Project.

In her spare time, Jessie enjoys playing music, cooking, and enjoying walks in nature.
