Accessibility
At our clinic, we prioritize accessibility to ensure all our clients can comfortably access our services. Convenient parking is available behind the clinic, along with the main entrance. There is one designated accessible parking space for those who need it. Our accessible entrance is located at the front of the building with a ramp that measures 50.5″ wide and is equipped with anti-slip treads.
Inside, we have gender-neutral washrooms on all three floors, including a dedicated accessible/gender-neutral washroom on the main floor. For ease of movement throughout the clinic, elevator access is available on all floors. If you require or prefer to use the elevator, please inform our friendly front-desk staff upon arrival, and they’ll be happy to assist you. We have designated areas for feeding your little ones and change tables to support families visiting our clinic.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone. If there are ways that we can make your experience more comfortable, please let us know prior to your visit.
Dedication To Sensitive Practice
Many people find it difficult to discuss bowel, bladder and pelvic pain issues and we recognize that seeking treatment for these problems can be daunting. Clients will receive confidential treatment in a caring and respectful environment.
The Pelvic Health Clinic strives to foster an environment where clients feel safe and supported. In order to help you feel safe and avoid possible triggers, we ask that you discuss with your therapist how they might make you feel more comfortable and better supported during assessment and treatment.
Payment
At this time, we are using contactless payment methods (credit card, debit, cash or cheque). We provide you with a detailed receipt that includes your therapist’s registration number. You may then submit this receipt to your insurance company to be reimbursed for your visit.
Private physiotherapy treatment is not covered under the provincial health plan in Nova Scotia (MSI). However, most private insurance companies cover private physiotherapy treatments. Please check with your health insurance provider (for instance, Medavie Blue Cross, Great West Life, SunLife, RWAM, etc.) regarding your coverage.
Cancellation Process
Our cancellation policy is easy to maintain and simple to remember: we only require 24 hours notice. Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient. Any appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a $30 fee. Cancellations are accepted via email, text or voicemail. Last minute cancellations directly affect your therapist’s earnings for the day, so we truly appreciate ample time to try to fill your spot.
Scent-Free Policy
As part of our commitment to provide a safe environment for our patients, clients, health care practitioners, and employees, The Pelvic Health Clinic has a scent free policy. Please refrain from wearing perfume, scented hairspray, cologne, scented deodorant, aftershave, or any other scented products when you come to our clinic. Scented products contain chemicals which can cause migraines, nausea, and even breathing problems for people with asthma, allergies, and environmental illness.
