Pelvic pain and dysfunction often underlay many of the conditions we see daily in our practice, yet these may be the symptoms your clients are least likely to discuss with you. Join pelvic health physiotherapists Erika Burger and Sonya Malcolm and registered massage therapist, Denise Pelkey as they help you to understand pelvic health and dysfunction from both a pelvic physiotherapy and therapeutic massage point of view.
The course will be conducted over two days, offering a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Participants will learn a variety of hands-on techniques using external approaches that can be seamlessly integrated into their massage therapy practice. These methods will equip therapists with valuable tools to support clients experiencing pelvic pain and dysfunction. The curriculum will also include detailed instruction on regional anatomy and client assessment.
Beyond teaching practical techniques, the course is designed to enhance participants’ ability to collaborate effectively with pelvic health physiotherapists, both within multidisciplinary clinical settings and in the broader community.
On the final afternoon, individuals with lived experience of chronic pelvic pain and dysfunction will be invited to participate. This valuable opportunity will allow therapists to apply their newly acquired skills in history taking, assessment, and treatment in a real-world context.
